Video Message from President Koester

To Members of the Campus Community,

The link below contains a videotaped message that I recorded on November 3 to share information about the current budget situation facing the CSU and California State University, Northridge. It is being sent today after taking the time to prepare closed captioning, but the information remains current.

I chose to record this message because so many have expressed concern and anxiety about next year’s budget, asking when we will know more and what are the likely consequences to us at Cal State Northridge.

I do hope you will take a few minutes to listen to the message. In it I briefly describe the basic facts of this year’s budget reduction for Cal State Northridge and the University’s budget planning for 2010-11 and 2011-12. We will keep you further updated through the Campus Budget News website as new information becomes available.

Thank you for your continued work on behalf of the University and our students and for being willing to endure the current uncertainty about the state, CSU and campus budgets. I look forward to continuing to work with you to keep Cal State Northridge strong during this difficult time.
