Research

We use scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy to investigate the structural, electronic, magnetic, and chemical properties of low dimensional materials at the single atom or molecule level. We are currently interested in the following topics: (1) magnetic and spin related phenomena in low dimensional materials; (2) preparation and characterization of graphene and two-dimensional materials; and (3) adsorption, diffusion and reaction of molecules on catalytic surfaces.
