Do you know a relative, friend, co-worker, classmate, colleague, friend of a friend, acquaintance, or child that may have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes(T1D) or Type 2 Diabetes(T2D)?

Did you know that one of the two types may be genetically inherited, while the other may not?

Do you know the difference between Type 1 and Type 2?

Have you ever met somebody with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes?

Do you know the difficulties faced with being Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetic?

Did you know it begins with you and that you can make a difference?

Join us as we speak about Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and how they differentiate from a first hand account from people like you who live with Diabetes. A truly inspiring and moving two hours you would not want to miss.

Did you know:

⢠As many as three million Americans may have T1D.1

⢠Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults, approximately 80 people per day, are diagnosed with T1D in the U.S.2

⢠Approximately 85 percent of people living with T1D are adults, and 15 percent of people living with T1D are children.1

⢠The prevalence of T1D in Americans under age 20 rose by 23 percent between 2001 and 2009.3

⢠The rate of T1D incidence among children under age 14 is estimated to increase by three percent annually worldwide.4

⢠T1D accounts for $14.9 billion in healthcare costs in the U.S. each year.5

Cycle for life was created in the memory of fraternity brother Taylor Trudeau who passed away in 2008 after a long fight against leukemia. Donations benefit blood cancer and are 100% tax deductible. This is a stationary bike marathon put on by Pikes at 80 college campuses across the United States and Canada. The ways to get involved include:

Sponsors $10 to ride a stationary bike for ½ hour on the event date. Tables will be outside of the SRC as the event draws nearer to get a time slot or ask a pike on campus.

Sponsor a rider for ½ hour intervals at any amount.

There is a third party that will match $500 if $500 at least that amount is sent it through email donations.

To donate online visit www.taylorcycleforlife.org. Click on the chapters tab in the top left on your screen. Find CSUN and click donate.
