Dr. James Chong received his Ph.D. in Finance from the ISMA Centre, the University of Reading (United Kingdom) in 2002 and joined CSUN in 2003. Aside from his role as a part-time lecturer at the ISMA Centre, his experience is from industry, having worked as a credit officer, money market trader, and quantitative analyst in the commercial banking, mutual fund, and hedge fund arena. Dr. Chong maintains his research pursuits in the fields of applied econometrics and risk management. He has published in the Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Asset Management, among others. He also holds postgraduate degrees in financial mathematics from the University of Chicago, and finance from Lancaster University (United Kingdom). His undergraduate qualification is in accounting from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
