At first, Aleksandr fought at the Gears Elder and cried that he could not play with his friend. The Gears Elder introduced him to art of the lance and technology to try to replace Aleksandr's friendship with that weak Sylvia and filthy Roots Tribe.

By focusing more on his tribe's skill, he slowly forgot the friendship he had with Sylvia.
