• Selection digits:

  • Choose some subset of digits to select.
  • The fourth most significant conjoined with the least significant digit for example for an array of 100 elements.
  • H(001364825) = 35

• In some circumstances caution must be exercised when choosing which digits.

• Choosing the third most significant digit in 10 digit phone numbers would be horrible (Everyone in the same area code would share this digit)
