She holds a MS in biomechanics and a dual PhD in kinesiology and neural sciences from Indiana University. \r\nShe has had academic appointments at the University of Michigan and the University of Barcelona. Currently, she is a full professor in CSUN.\r\nHer developmental Kinesiologist and neuroscientist backgrounds allow her to blend sensorimotor behavior with underlying neuroscience principles. She specializes in the motor behavior of infant and children populations, both with and without developmental problems. Her research focuses on the effects of physical rehabilitation interventions on gait, mobility, physical activity levels, and quality of life in pediatric populations. Most recently, she is interested in the relationship between physical activity and learning in children. Thus far her research has made contributions to describe and enhance levels of physical activity in pediatric populations, and to implement early treadmill training interventions in pre-locomotor infants to improve adaptive gait. Part of her research focuses on adverse effect of iron deficiency on children\u2019s development collaborating in research projects in Costa Rica, Chile, USA, and China. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998 and has over twenty-five years of micro, mezzo and macro social work experience. Dr. Ashley maintains certifications in Diversity and Inclusion Practices from Cornell University\u2019s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).\r\nDr. Ashley is the author of multiple publications; speaks at conferences nationwide and internationally; maintains a trauma informed, anti-oppressive private practice and provides antiracist training and consultation for multiple community agencies. She specializes in deconstructing intersectional oppression, privilege and racialized trauma to promote healing. Her pedagogical acumen centers on conducting and facilitating antiracist, culturally relevant research and practice with marginalized individuals and communities. Dr. Ashley\u2019s research interests emphasize the promotion of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in clinical practice, education and organizational culture. His first book, The Great Exhibition of 1851 (Yale University Press, 1999), which was praised by The American Historical Review as \u201can exemplary piece of cultural history,\u201d unravels the many and varied meanings of the Crystal Palace, the site of the first world\u2019s fair and one of the pre-eminent cultural icons of the nineteenth century. Since then, he has focused his research and writing on the British Empire. He has authored several articles on art and empire, including the historiographical essay on that topic in The Oxford History of the British Empire. His most recent book, Imperial Boredom: Monotony and the British Empire (Oxford University Press, 2018), challenges the long-established view that that the British Empire was about adventure and excitement, with heroic men and intrepid women settling new lands and spreading commerce and civilization around the globe, demonstrating instead that boredom was central to the nineteenth-century imperial experience. Professor Auerbach has held fellowships at the Yale Center for British Art, the Huntington Library, the National Maritime Museum (London), and the Hakluyt Society, and is also the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. In 2019 he received CSUN's Preeminent Scholarly Publication Award. Dr. Hanreddy is particularly interested in strategies that allow students with significant disabilities access to meaningful instruction in academic (core) content in the context of typical (general education) settings. Dr. Hanreddy has taught as a special education teacher in a traditional school district and at CHIME Charter School, a fully inclusive nationally recognized school, where she has also served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and as the Interim Executive Director. Her research and scholarship ranges from Hindi films and call centers in India to racialized implications of silences to the intersections of gender, media and diasporic queer audiences. She is also co-editor of an anthology entitled, \"Silence, Feminism, Power: Reflections at the Edges of Sound\" (Palgrave MacMillan).\r\n\r\nPrior to earning her Ph.D. degree, Dr. Malhotra worked as an Executive Producer and Commissioning Editor of Programs for BiTV (Business India Television), one of the alternative, private television networks in India. These professional experiences, which centered on violence against women, sexual assault, and structural inequalities in micro contexts, and her own social movement activity, eventually became the springboard into her focus on community organizing and social movements. \r\n\r\nKaren began teaching social welfare\/social justice, qualitative research, and LGBTQQI+ courses at CSUN in 2008 and now teaches courses related to her areas of specialization (and joy!) including artivism, social movements, and community organizing. Her research leans towards centering art in social movements and community organizing and she has been exploring the meanings art and creativity hold for artivists and socially engaged artists in their social justice work. She has co-authored\/edited books about anti-oppressive social work practice and anti-oppressive arts-based research methods and is currently collaborating on a workbook on anti-oppressive arts-based practice. He is the author of the books, Intellectual Property Law: Legal Aspects of Innovation and Competition (2016, 2022) and Practical Internet Law for Business (Artech 2001), as well as numerous law review articles on intellectual property law, business and commercial law, internet law, and legal education.\r\n\r\nProfessor Saunders currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Business Law and teaches courses in intellectual property law, business law, estates and trusts law, and international business law. A 60-minute special about baseball that he wrote and directed won NAB and NY State Broadcasters' Association awards. Jon left WBNG to freelance in NYC on commercials, features and TV shows such as Saturday Night Live. He worked frequently as a prop man, despite his profusion of thumbs. Finally realizing that this flaw would impede a sustained career in the property arts, he embraced screenwriting. To support his new path, Jon taught TV production at Brooklyn College and F.I.T. Before long, he moved to L.A. and affiliated himself with UCLA Extension, where he taught film production. After receiving his M.F.A., Jon's screenwriting career blossomed. Several of his film and TV projects have been optioned by producers such as David Foster, Cari-Esta Albert, Meg Ryan's Prufrock Pictures, Rhino Films, and Altschuler Krinsky Works. A feature script won Best in Show at the BEA Media Arts Festival. Jon joined CSUN in 1998. He has served as CTVA Screenwriting Option Head, CTVA Department Chair, and Chair of the CSUN Council of Chairs.
