In this lecture, CSUN Professor Jodi Brown and Yadira Tejeda report on a research study conducted in 2019, following up on a January 2017 study that interviewed eight Executive Directors of nonprofits in the San Fernando Valley about their strategies responding to what they saw as the possible impact on their nonprofits of the then-new Trump Administration. The follow-up study interviewed the same eight EDs and was conducted after the midterm elections. A main conclusion of the second study is that nonprofits are continuing to meet their mission with confidence that they will survive regardless of the outcome of the upcoming 2020 election. This free event will take place at a meeting of the Valley Providers Collaborative. Both studies were supported in part by HIRI Nonprofit Research Fellowship grants.
