In the current state of the world, San Fernando Valley nonprofits have even more compelling reasons to work together with each other, and with the communities where they live and serve. This free workshop will present some basics about how nonprofits can engage with their communities, and how they can work with each other both formally and informally. Most of us know the time-honored principles, but they need to be re-thought in the time of the pandemic, and beyond when recovery begins. The speaker will be John Bwarie, Vice-President of the Lucy Jones Center (which holds regular webinars on how small businesses including nonprofits can deal with the pandemic), and CEO of Stratiscope, a consulting firm specializing in community engagement for cities, corporations and nonprofits. Handouts will be provided. The workshop facilitator (who also will speak briefly) will be VNR Executive Director Dr. Thomas Backer, a nationally-recognized expert on nonprofit collaborations.
