The University Student Union (USU) at California State University, Northridge is a student centered non-profit organization that works to expand the college experience through various programs, services, employment, and involvement opportunities.

The mission of the USU is to foster the achievement of students’ educational goals by facilitating a strong connection between students and their campus community.

We are an engaging and energetic campus program that develops students through inclusive activities, meaningful employment opportunities, leadership experiences and innovative technologies, facilities, and services.

CSUN Alumnus Helps Establish the New Student Recreation Center

CSUN alumnus of 1994, Bryan A. Green, has made a generous donation of time, expertise, and financial support towards the establishment of the new Student Recreation Center (SRC), and the recently entitled The Bryan Green Matador Training Zone. Green graduated from CSUN with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Marketing. In 1997, he founded Advantage Fitness Products (AFP) and remains its Chief Operating Officer. The company provides specialized consultation and support services across multiple facets of the health and fitness industry, including facility planning, design, equipment supply, and technical service support. Rec Center Gains Gold for CSUN

The Student Recreation Center received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold status certification in Oct. 2012. LEED is an internationally recognized green building program, which provides building owners and operators with a frame work for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building components. Free Screening of the Invisible War

The Veterans Resource Center of California State University, Northridge and the Valley Trauma Center are collaborating to present a groundbreaking investigative documentary into the epidemic of rape within the U.S. Military.  The film will be screened on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 p.m.– 9 p.m. at the CSUN University Student Union Theater.  A panel discussion immediately following the screening will be moderated by the Sepulveda Vet Center and will feature Kirby Dick, the film’s director, and Amy Ziering, the film’s producer, in addition to experts on military sexual trauma and veterans.   “The Invisible War” paints a startling picture. Today, a female soldier in combat zones is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire. The Department of Defense estimates there were a staggering 19,300 service members sexually assaulted in 2010 alone. Read more
