FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Northridge - The University Student Union (USU) encourages all CSUN students to vote in the upcoming April elections to choose five new student leaders who will serve a two-year term on the USU Board of Directors (BOD).
This is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate Matadors to vote for representatives who will make decisions that are intended to improve the campus life experience. Elected students will advocate for programs and services designed to enhance the collegiate experience and positively impact the CSUN community. Keep a look out for the USU Board of Directors elections on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7 – the same two days as the Associated Students elections.
“The University Student Union understands how important it is to have CSUN students leading our Board of Directors, especially with the USU’s core goals of creating a sense of belonging for every student,” said Emery Hernandez, administrative support coordinator. “It is just as important for fellow students to vote for the student leader candidates who they think will best serve their campus community.”
The USU Board of Directors has an impressive track record of bringing popular student destinations to CSUN. Over the last few years, the Board has been the driving force behind the Student Recreation Center, Veterans Resource Center, Pride Center, Oasis Wellness Center and the student referendum to build the planned “New Heart of Campus”. Recently, the Board responded to the pandemic-related impacts on students by providing COVID-relief packages that contained a CSUN sweatshirt, USU swag, a $15 Starbucks gift card, a $50 VISA gift card and more to those that requested the support. Even during this difficult time, the USU Board of Directors is committed to helping Matadors thrive.
Voting for the USU Board of Directors elections will take place online through student CSUN email accounts on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7.
