Dia de los Muertos — Virtual

Celebrate, learn and get involved at Dia de los Muertos — Virtual! We invite all CSUN students to enjoy this free opportunity to learn about the traditions and significance of Dia de los Muertos and celebrate friends and family! Join us on Zoom for a special performance and keep an eye on our Instagram throughout the day to learn about the interesting history and cultural practices surrounding this special day. Many cultures celebrate the holiday but this event will focus on the Mexican tradition. You’ll even have a chance to win raffle prizes by participating in a fun interactive challenge.

Have you created a piece of truly unique art that you’ve really been wanting to share? Then it’s time to showcase your talents at the University Student Union’s virtual art walk event, Expressions.

Come experience seeing your art exhibited online along with the work of other talented Matadors. How you express your creativity is up to you, whether it’s graffiti art, nail art, hair art, graphic design, interior design, canvas art, clay art, photography, or other “outside the box” piece.

Adulting 101: Mental Wellness

Take care of you, Matadors! The USU, in collaboration with the Oasis Wellness Center, Klotz Student Health Center, and University Counseling Services (UCS), invites you to learn how to take special care of yourself with Adulting 101: Mental Wellness. Certified Health Education Specialist Susan Krikorian, Oasis Wellness Center Manager Richard Cardona, and a UCS counselor will host an interactive panel on improving your mental wellness and using self-care to feel like your best self! 

Lip Sync Battle
Submit auditions by Wednesday, Nov. 4 @ 5 p.m.

Round 2: Dec. 7 – 11

Join us for the fun and excitement of the Lip Sync Battle where CSUN students will audition to rock the virtual stage and show us their skills! Over the course of the competition’s two rounds, watch the selected contestants lip-sync their way to big prizes and a brush with stardom. Don’t want to compete? Then you really have to watch! Friends, family and fellow Matadors can still take part in the fun by voting on the USU’s Instagram story polls for which contestant they think should advance to the next round.

This entertaining event will be a blast for everyone, and the contestants will each receive a $25 Amazon gift card and a Golden Microphone just for joining in and sharing their talent with us. Our top three winners will walk away with the prizes and bragging rights!

This panel discussion is all about social justice and activism through different creative platforms and mediums. It’s a great opportunity to feel empowered by other artists, discuss important topics and explore healing as a CSUN community. Plus, everyone is encouraged to share a photo of their piece so that it may be compiled and showcased during the panel.

CrossFit At Home
CrossFit At Home is a great way to keep your fitness routine in motion right now – no matter where you are. This resource is an essential way to keep your goals within reach and at your fingertips with instructional videos about individual workouts, functional movements, and nutritional meal ideas.

Blogilates has a wide range of quick 10-12 minute workouts by Cassey Ho, an award-winning fitness instructor based in Los Angeles. Her positive approach is a great way to have a fun and engaging virtual workout. While you’re at it, explore some of her articles covering an array of topics revolving around fitness, nutrition and other health-related topics.

Fitness Blender
Redundant workouts make it hard to stay motivated. But having a diverse collection of workout routines in your hands can help you plan accordingly and get the results you’re looking for. Fitness Blender has an easy-to-use video library that helps you customize your workouts based on available time, exercise difficulty, available equipment and training type. This unique fitness resource will help keep your workouts fresh and effective whether you’re on the go or at home.

Get moving and build momentum towards improving your mental and physical health! The YMCA’s Y360 health and fitness videos provide a great opportunity to engage in a group yoga class from where ever you may be. It’s a wonderful way to relax and feel the healing energy that a guided meditation class can provide.
