A Smooth Musical Night Out Before Valentine’s Day

What:
The University Student Union (USU) will host the first Soulful Saturdays event of the semester, which will feature the romantic sounds of Latin music. CSUN students can enjoy these performances for free and guests will be charged $5 at the door. 

Who:
Kimera is a local Latin Flamenco group based in Los Angeles. The band features four members with a Latin background and vast experience to give their music an authentic and unique sound. To learn more, visit kimeramusic.com.
Roxanne was created when three church choir members had a dream to perform music together. This band of three later became a band of five, with a passion for music. Band members include Sara Lopez and Roberto Lopez, current CSUN students; Alicia Mejia, CSUN alumna; Daniela Lopez, UCSB alumna; and Kevin Zepeda.

When:
Saturday, Feb. 11 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) 

Where:
PUB Sports Grill, located next to Wells Fargo in the USU.

Why:
Soulful Saturdays is aimed to provide students with local weekend entertainment. Students can wind down and relax while enjoying a free dinner and live performances from student groups and local community talent.

Background: 
Soulful Saturdays are more intimate than any other concert held by the USU. Soulful Saturdays was introduced in fall 2011 and subsequent shows have reached maximum capacity.
