No Passport Needed to Travel the World at USU’s “CARNAVAL”

Northridge — The University Student Union is inviting all CSUN students to enjoy CARNAVAL, an entertaining celebration of global diversity on Thursday, March 26 from noon to 7:30 p.m. in the Plaza del Sol. Bring your friends to share an adventure that includes free international cuisine, live performances, music, crafts and more. 

“We are so excited for our 18th annual CARNAVAL celebration,” said USU events assistant, Shirin Nahvi. “We want everyone in the CSUN community to participate in this fun and engaging cultural experience to truly appreciate the diversity of the world we live in.” 

All in attendance will explore an extraordinary variety of food from all over the globe. Expand your palate with five-course menus from French and Persian cuisines. The French five-course lunch menu will feature Chicken Cordon Bleu, Mini Quiche with Mushroom, Lentil Salad with Sherry Vinaigrette, Baguette Slices, French Onion Soup Shooters and Chocolate Mousse for dessert. The five-course dinner menu from Persian cuisine will feature Joojeh Kabob, Salad Shirazi, Shirin Polo, Bread with Hummus, Baklava, Zoolbia and Bamieh for dessert. 

Throughout the day, you will experience live performances of music and dance from many other cultures including Bali, Egyptian Dance, Afro-Caribbean Dance, Brazilian Samba Dance, Polynesian Fire Dance and more. It will be like traveling the world right here at the USU.
