FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge — Ready, Set, 2021! From Friday, Jan. 1 to Friday, Feb. 5, all Matadors are welcomed to a brand-new year and the new semester at CSUN all during “Swing Into Spring” from the University Student Union, Associated Students and other campus collaborators. These departments are working together to bring you an unprecedented month of fun activities to get your year off to a great start including virtual events from Outdoor Adventures, USU Programs, the Student Recreation Center (SRC), the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), the Pride Center and so much more! Each week will also feature a raffle with awesome prizes including cool t-shirts, masks and gift cards from Amazon, Chipotle, Netflix and GrubHub. You’ll be entered to win just for participating in the weekly events.

“This is such an exciting opportunity to welcome back our students with a very special series of events,” said USU Programs Manager, Audrey Martinez. “It’s going to be a great celebration saying, ‘Goodbye 2020’ and ‘Hello 2021’ in partnership with our fellow collaborators.”

The amazing list of entertaining “Swing Into Spring” virtual programs that students can sign up for includes the Student Recreation Center’s “New Year Step Challenge”, “Run It To Win It” and many more game & trivia nights. In addition, you can attend events hosted by the Pride Center like “GAYme Night”, “Lavender Takeover” and “Queerations”. Our student veterans can also join in the VRC’s new Spring beginnings with virtual programs such as “Veteran Welcome”, “The Blend” and “Game Night”. The Games Room is also hosting the “Video Game Bracket Challenge”, an “Among Us Party”, and the “Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament” while the USU Diversity & Inclusion department will host a special program of “Cultural Welcomes”. Don’t forget to check out additional programming from Associated Students such as “Intro To Backpacking” and “Star Wars Virtual Tour” hosted by Outdoor Adventures or check out “Meet the Clubs” hosted by the Matador Involvement Center (MIC). There are plenty activities for everyone to start off the Spring semester right!
