Matadors Elect 5 Students to Join the University Student Union Board

April 18, 2022

The results are in! Matadors have elected five student leaders to join the University Student Union Board of Directors. They will take office in June and serve a two-year term.

“I have loved the work that I have been able to accomplish for the USU through the Board of Directors (BOD),” said Director-elect Gisselle Olmedo Torres, who was appointed to an open seat in 2021 and currently serves as its vice chair.

“When I joined the BOD, I was appointed so the idea of running in an election was terrifying,” said Olmedo Torres. “Next year is my last year at CSUN and I could not be happier to continue and finish the college journey as part of this legacy of leadership.”

Olmedo Torres topped the field in last week’s election with 891 votes, followed by Christopher Aldana (468 votes), Daniel Moreno (443 votes), Abhishek Tiwari (322 votes) and Adrian Hernandez (283 votes).
