Matador Madness to Launch CSUN Basketball Season

Northridge—The University Student Union (USU) is inviting all CSUN students to experience CSUN Athletics’ Matador Madness event on Friday, Oct. 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Matadome. Grab your best red and black attire and bring your CSUN spirit to help kick off the Matadors’ basketball season. Students in attendance will also be treated to great hoops action, live music, free food and a chance to win cool prizes. 

“We want all Matadors to get pumped for another exciting basketball season” said Audrey Martinez, events supervisor for the University Student Union. “We are expecting all the fans to get out there and celebrate their Matador pride, have a great time, enjoy some interactive games and a get chance to win prizes.” 

DJ Malski and Guest Host, Yesi Ortiz from Power 106 FM will spin the hottest hits for the Matador Madness pre-party at 7 p.m. on the Spirit Plaza. Free pizza and hotdogs will be provided. 

The event is free for all CSUN students with a current I.D. The Men’s basketball team will scrimmage and students will be able to enter contests to win gift cards, Big Show tickets, and Matador basketball VIP seats. Students can even sign up for their chance to make a half-court shot and win a brand new car.
