It Starts with You: Learn How to Make a Difference at the “Identity & Privilege Workshop” with the USU

July 16, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge— The University Student Union (USU) invites you to the “Identity & Privilege Workshop”, an important discussion on privilege, identity and how to make a meaningful difference in the world - starting with you. On Wednesday, July 23 from 12 to 1:30 p.m., connect with us on Zoom to participate in this compelling opportunity focused on how you can contribute to the change while considering your own privilege and identity, all facilitated by Dr. Aimee Glocke, an Africana Studies Professor at CSUN.

“The greatest change starts within ourselves,” says Jessica Aceves, Diversity and Inclusion Operations Assistant, “Regardless of your personal conscious level, everyone can learn something new through this interactive dialogue.”

Join the USU in the fight to break the cycle of systemic oppression and learn how to use your privilege by finding out the different ways you can step up. Come engage in this important workshop to understand more about your own identity and how our social intersections shape our worldview.

In times like these, it’s important to stay aware and be better informed on other perspectives and how institutions are not built for everyone. So, join us in discovering how we all have a role in creating social change workshop via Zoom (meeting ID: 95680592041). For more information, please visit csun.edu/usu.
