September 28, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge — The University Student Union (USU) invites all Matadors to an exciting online showcase of unique and beautiful art at our special art walk, “Expressions: Virtual”. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, check out this new online opportunity for Matadors to showcase their artistic talents and continue the power of self-expression virtually. This semester’s “Expressions: Virtual” Instagram will feature “outside the box” art. This includes but is certainly not limited to graffiti art, nail art, hair art, graphic design, interior design, canvas art, clay art, photography and any other unique art! Don’t miss this chance to share your voice and express yourself along with your fellow Matadors!

“The USU wants to amplify the opinions and expressions of all our students, especially throughout our virtual school year,” said Dyemond Cooper, USU Events Student Lead. “This special ‘Expressions’ event is a great online extension of what is always a safe space for CSUN students to share their art, make their voices heard and truly be themselves.”

Students interested in participating in “Expressions: Virtual” can submit their art pieces from Monday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 16. Your submission must include the art you personally created, your name, and a 2-3 sentence paragraph about your art and what it means to you. On Friday, Nov. 13, all of the artists will get the chance to see their work displayed on Instagram during a fun virtual art walk for the viewing and appreciation of everyone. Each person who submits their personal art will be entered in a raffle to win a $300 gift card for their choice of art supplies.

Make plans now to express yourself with your own artwork and check out what your friends and fellow Matadors create at “Expressions: Virtual”. For more information, please visit csun.edu/usu.
