Express Yourself at “Expressions” in the University Student Union

What:
The University Student Union (USU) invites all CSUN students to express themselves through poetry, spoken word and other facets of art at “Expressions”. Students can find a safe zone at this event to express their thoughts, opinions and emotions through a variety of spoken and musical art forms. 

Who:
Courtney Brubaker, Student Events Assistant, is responsible for putting on this event.

When:
Wednesday, Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16 from 8 to 10:30 p.m.

Where:
Northridge Center at the USU

Why:
Provide a welcoming venue for students to showcase their personal artistry and develop a greater appreciation for poetry and spoken word.

Background:
Whether it be a song, poem, dance piece or any other form of art, all are welcome to showcase their artistic side at “Expressions”.  Hosted by Sean Hill, this special open mic style event will have a unique theme each month to inspire the way students choose express their thoughts, opinions and emotions. All are welcome to attend this safe space of shared creativity, whether they want to perform or just cheer on their friends. Light snacks will be provided, as well as the chance to win cool prizes.
