Experience Camaraderie at Black Male Scholars Barbershop Talks

MEDIA ALERT

WHAT: Black Male Scholars of the University Student Union (USU) invites all CSUN Black male students to Barbershop Talks, a safe discussion space to converse about their experiences on and off campus. Students will share challenges they face in higher education and outside of it with occasional guest speakers coming in to guide the conversation.

WHO: Derrick Lewis, Diversity and Inclusion Student Assistant, is the event lead.

WHEN: Every other Wednesday (Sept. 14 – Dec. 14) from 3 to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Tujunga Room, East Conference Center, USU WHY: This support network allows Black male students feel a sense of community at CSUN as they actively listen to each other and offer insightful advice on shared experiences.

BACKGROUND: Black Male Scholar’s Barbershop Talks encourages Black male Matadors to express their feelings and connect with like-minded individuals.
