Delve Into Deep and Dynamic Conversations Surrounding the Black Community at Essential Talks: Black Chat

WHAT: The University Student Union (USU) in collaboration with California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) and San Francisco State University (SFSU) invites all African/Black students to the series of programs, Black Chat, a special part of Essential Talks. In this safe space, students will discuss topics such as politics, pop culture, Black fatigue, goal setting as a Black student, societal challenges and today’s climate at different colleges by connecting with peers over shared experiences and feelings. 

WHO: Audrey Martinez, USU Programs Supervisor at the Pride Center, is responsible for coordinating this event. 

WHEN: Select Tuesdays, 3 – 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 Tuesday Feb. 22 Tuesday, March 8 Tuesday, April 12 Tuesday, April 26 Tuesday, May 10 

WHERE: Zoom 

WHY: These series of programs offer Black students the opportunity to openly express how they feel on imperative topics in a supportive environment free of judgment.
