Come Celebrate Global Diversity at the 21st Annual “CARNAVAL” on the Plaza del Sol at the University Student Union

March 21, 2018

Northridge — The University Student Union (USU) invites all Matadors to celebrate the diversity of our world at the 21st annual “CARNAVAL”, an exciting multicultural fair that highlights the extraordinary variety of international culture on this dynamic campus. On Thursday, April 5, from 12 to 7:30 p.m. on the Plaza del Sol at the USU, this event offers all CSUN students the opportunity to explore an incredible range of diversity through electrifying dance, riveting music, live performances, fun activities and delicious food – all for FREE.

“At the USU, we are more than excited to bring back our hit event, ‘CARNAVAL’,” said Erika Villalvazo, Student Event Assistant and Event Lead. “Our goal for this always festive event is to promote and recognize the beautiful diversity of our Matador community in a fun and inclusive way!”

This year, “CARNAVAL” will feature a jam-packed lineup of exhilarating live performances, ranging from samba entertainment and Polynesian dancing to ballet folkorico and an exotic animals show. Throughout the event, students can get their psychic readings done by a professional fortune-teller or enjoy the art of Mehndi from a henna artist. After snapping some pictures with friends at the photo booth, Matadors can visit the Chinese calligraphy booth and have their names written in a beautiful script style. All students who attend “CARNAVAL” and share their experience on social media with the hash tag, “#csuncarnaval”, will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win a pair of VIP passes for the Holi Festival of Colors in San Fernando, California. The VIP attendees each receive one multi-entry admissions wristband, five bags of colors, and special access to the stage for dancing and photographs.
