Yesterday’s Struggles in Today’s Times: A Juneteenth Program

The University Student Union, in collaboration with the Chief Diversity Office, University Counseling Services and Africana Studies, invites you to join in this two-part event as we dive into Black culture and history, the current political climate, racism against the Black community, anti-racist work in academia and more during Yesterday’s Struggles in Today’s Times: A Juneteenth Program. With a different program theme each day, you can engage in dynamic discussions centered on uplifting Black voices and experiences. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your community or acquire new perspective and knowledge on your journey as an ally.

Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A with Dr. Marquita Gammage and Dr. Cedric Hackett from CSUN’s Department of Africana Studies to learn about the history of Juneteenth, our current political climate and the significance and relevance of Juneteenth today.

Register for these events, and then sign on to Zoom to participate in powerful conversations geared towards change during Yesterday’s Struggles in Today’s Times: A Juneteenth Program, hosted by the Chief Diversity Office, University Counseling Services, the Department of Africana Studies and the University Student Union … Where Matadors Belong!
