Schedule: The session will take place over four days, January 11 - 14, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am each day.
Description: The Accessibility Bootcamp covers best practices, tips, and the core tools and campus resources available to make documents, videos, and other course materials more accessible. Featured tools include Canvas Ally, which aids in identifying accessibility challenges in your course materials in Canvas.
Recommended Attendees: Faculty and faculty support staff
- Perform a basic accessibility check.
- Use Canvas Ally and the new Course Accessibility Report to identify accessibility issues and potential fixes.
- Know where to go at CSUN for additional support.
Deliverable: Ensure one of your syllabi for Spring 2022 is accessible. Bootcamp includes time to work on syllabus and get support.
Stipends are available for first-time faculty attendees for all winter programs. Faculty who attended the Accessibility Bootcamp offered in Summer 2020 and Summer 2021 can do so again in Winter 2022 for their own enrichment, however, no stipends will be paid.
Note: Faculty must be an active employee at the time of completion for funding.
The accessibility training is primarily for CSUN faculty. CSUN staff and student employees are welcome to participate, space permitting.
