Schedule: The session will take place over four days, July 19-22, 2021, from 10 to 11:30am each day.
Description: The Accessibility Bootcamp covers best practices, tips, and the core tools and campus resources available to make documents, videos, and other course materials more accessible. Featured tools include Canvas Ally, which aids in identifying accessibility challenges in your course materials in Canvas.
Recommended Attendees: Faculty and faculty support staff
Learning Objectives:
- Perform a basic accessibility check.
- Use Canvas Ally to identify accessibility issues and potential fixes.
- Know where to go at CSUN for additional support.
Deliverable: Ensure one of your syllabi for Fall 2021 is accessible. Bootcamp includes time to work on syllabus and get support.
Stipends are available for first-time attendees for all summer programs, including Zero to Online, Summer Bootcamps, and Learning Tracks. Faculty who attended Zero to Online, or other programs offered in Summer 2020 can do so again in Summer 2021 for their own enrichment, however, no stipends will be paid.
Note: Faculty must be an active employee at the time of completion for funding.
The accessibility training is primarily for CSUN faculty. CSUN staff and student employees are welcome to participate, space permitting.
