The Learning Specialist is a heightened academic support structure on a case by case basis. Sessions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, 1 to 4 times a week or Bi-weekly (Monday-Friday). Meetings will be task oriented that will include study skills, test prep techniques, alternative learning methods, structured study time, and campus resource referrals. The Learning Specialist will report weekly on student-athletes academics on an excel spreadsheet (grades are self reported, faculty verified, pulled from Moodle by the student, or from hand carried progress reports). The Learning Specialist will work closely with sport specific Advisors, DRES and coaches to communicate needs that the student might have to further their academic progress and education.
