Student Assistant

In a fast-paced environment, Learning Resource Center Student Assistants are our initial contact with the university community. They greet and direct visitors, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, maintain databases, and perform general office work and other duties as assigned.

Science, Math, and Related Topics (SMART) Tutoring

Applications are being accepted for Fall 2021. 

The SMART Lab offers tutoring in subjects including accounting, biology, chemistry, economics, geography, mathematics, physics, psychology sociology, statistics, and more. SMART Lab tutoring is a paid position.

Supplemental Instruction Classes in Math, Chemistry, Economics, Political Science etc.

Applications are being accepted for Fall 2021. 

University 60 classes, Supplemental Instruction (SI), are peer-facilitated group study sessions designed to help students master difficult subject matter in classes with traditionally low pass rates. Supplemental Instruction leaders are responsible for attending class meetings for the selected (‘target’) course, developing engaging and interactive lesson plans for SI sessions, attending and facilitating those SI sessions, and attending strategizing team meetings. SI is a paid position.

Supplemental Instruction in FRESHMAN WRITING

Applications are being accepted for Fall 2021. 

Supplemental Instruction in Writing supports first-time freshman students enrolled in "Approaches to University Writing" in several  departments.  SI classes (UNIV 61 & 62 ) are peer-facilitated sessions, and are mandatory for students enrolled in 113A and B.

SI Leaders are juniors, seniors, and grad students who have excellent critical reading and analytical writing skills, as well as the ability to mentor students, work cooperatively with faculty, and facilitate class activities and discussions.  For more information, email Dr. Kellenberger: anne.kellenberger@csun.edu.

Computer Technician

Applications are closed. 

In a fast-paced environment, the LRC Computer Technician maintains computers, servers, and backs up systems, databases, and other technological software and equipment. The LRC Computer Technician also helps to create and maintain database for statistics and data entry, troubleshoots computer, network, and software errors, and must be competent in web development.

Knowledge of standard office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.).

Graphic Designer

Applications are closed. 

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes a dynamic workload – from designing flyers to billboard signs to website pages. Knowledge of standard office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.) is recommended whereas knowledge of graphic design applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Reader, etc.) is expected.

Writing Center & Grammar Lab (Part-time Faculty and Student Consultants):

Inquiries and applications regarding positions for Part-Time Faculty Consultantship in the LRC and ISA Consultantship in the Writing Center should be sent to the Writing Programs Coordinator of the LRC at onlinelrc@csun.edu. **Two letters of recommendation and a writing sample will also be required if not already on file. 

 

PART-TIME FACULTY WRITING CENTER OR GRAMMAR LAB CONSULTANT JOBS:  

The pool for part-time faculty is now closed. We will open again in spring 2022. Questions can be directed to onlinelrc@csun.edu.

Note: being accepted into the pool does not guarantee units will be available as our offers are contingent upon budget and traffic needs. You will need to reapply with a current CV and letter of interest every year, even if you are in the pool.
