Student Assistant

In a fast-paced environment, Learning Resource Center Student Assistants are our initial contact with the university community. Science, Math, and Related Topics (SMART) Tutoring

Applications are closed for Spring 2024. 

The SMART Lab offers tutoring in subjects including accounting, biology, chemistry, economics, geography, mathematics, physics, psychology sociology, statistics, and more. SMART Lab tutoring is a paid position.

Supplemental Instruction Classes in Math, Chemistry, Economics, Political Science etc.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Looking for applicants available for these classes and times: 

Math 106: Lecture - MoTuWeTh 11:00am-12:05pm| SI - TU/TH 12:30pm-1:20pm

Chem 100: Lecture - M/W 8:00am-10:20am | SI - TU/TH 1:00pm-3:15pm

University 60 classes, Supplemental Instruction (SI), are peer-facilitated group study sessions designed to help students master difficult subject matter in classes with historically low pass rates. Supplemental Instruction leaders are responsible for attending class meetings for the selected (‘target’) course, developing engaging and interactive lesson plans for SI sessions, attending and facilitating those SI sessions, and attending strategizing team meetings. SI is a paid position.

Supplemental Instruction in FRESHMAN WRITING

Applications are open for Spring 2024.

Supplemental Instruction in Writing supports first-time freshman students enrolled in "Approaches to University Writing" in several  departments.  SI classes (UNIV 61 & 62 ) are peer-facilitated sessions, and are mandatory for students enrolled in 113A and B and some 115 courses.

SI Leaders are sophomores, juniors, seniors, and grad students who have excellent critical reading and analytical writing skills, as well as the ability to mentor students, work cooperatively with faculty, and facilitate class activities and discussions.  For more information, email Rashawn Green: rashawn.green@csun.edu

Computer Technician

Applications are closed for Spring 2024. 

In a fast-paced environment, the LRC Computer Technician maintains computers, servers, and backs up systems, databases, and other technological software and equipment. The LRC Computer Technician also helps to create and maintain database for statistics and data entry, troubleshoots computer, network, and software errors, and must be competent in web development.

Knowledge of standard office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.).

Graphic Designer

Applications are closed for Spring 2024. 

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes a dynamic workload – from designing flyers to billboard signs to website pages. Knowledge of standard office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.) is recommended whereas knowledge of graphic design applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Reader, etc.) is expected.

The pool for part-time faculty is now closed. We will NOT be opening the pool for the 2023-2024 academic year due to administrative changes currently in progress. Questions can be directed to rashawn.green@csun.edu.

Are you an upper division student or graduate student who is a strong writer and critical thinker? Do you like to talk about reading, writing, and thinking processes? Do you want more experience working with students one-on-one across the disciplines? Consider applying to be a Peer Writing Specialist in the Writing Center!
