As finals season approaches, the Writing Center is hosting Writer's Block Rumble to provide students with a time and space dedicated to to completing those final writing projects!
Students will be able to work in a quiet space in the presence of writing consultants who are available to answer quick* questions, provide quick feedback, and bounce ideas off of. This opportunity may be particularly helpful to students who work best when body-doubling or when held accountable by the peers around them. Students are encouraged to bring their own devices.
Rules:
- Students MUST be working on something
- Students can stay for as long as they’d like as long as a consultant is still on shift
- Students can leave & come back (would need to check in again)
- Students cannot treat it like a normal 1-on-1 session; multiple students will share one consultant
- Proof of attendance can be provided upon request
- Students don’t have to ask any questions and just work in silence if they’d like
*What counts as a “quick” question?
- How to cite a specific source
- How to apply a type of formatting to their paper
- Feedback on a thesis statement
- Sentence clarity
- 1-paragraph review
- Brainstorming
- Assignment prompt clarification
No registration necessary, but you may sign up in advance on EAB if you'd like. Otherwise, just come join us!
