Students in GE Honors are intellectually curious and take their studies seriously. The program provides such students with enhanced versions of courses that fulfill general education requirements, offering at least one GE Honors course in most required GE sections, including upper-division classes, on a rotating basis. GE Honors faculty design their courses around special, stimulating assignments and opportunities to explore subjects in deeper and sometimes unconventional ways. The courses also tend to be smaller, which means you can develop closer relationships with both faculty and other GE Honors students. Having such a network of faculty and peers is a substantial bonus at a large university like CSUN. In addition, each GE Honors course you take will receive a special designation on your transcript. If you complete 15 units of GE Honors courses, receive at least a B in those GE Honors courses, and maintain a GPA of 3.3 in all CSUN coursework, you will receive a GE Honors Certificate when you graduate.
