Teaching with Canvas (online, self-paced)
The goal of this course is introduce you to need-to-know tools and features of Canvas so you are equipped to teach using the Canvas learning management system. You will learn how the system works through a series of brief, curated readings, and test your knowledge through optional formative quizzes. We invite you to apply what you have learned through a series of optional hands-on exercises that can be performed in your test course. Faculty can take this online workshop at any time. Teaching with Canvas: Grading and Analytics for Student Success (online, self-paced)
This workshop will cover some of the tools and features available in Canvas used to track student access and progress. Course statistics can be used to monitor student access to activities and resources in your course. Activity completion can be set for course assignments and resources to give students a clearer picture of their progress in a course and set prerequisites to restrict access. The gradebook provides faculty with tools to contact students according to certain criteria. Completion of a Teaching with Canvas workshop, Canvas Essentials workshop, or previous knowledge of Canvas is highly recommended.
