Series #2-- Interactive, Culturally Responsive Teaching Strategies from the Stage
corrected dates & times -- Tuesdays 2:30pm-4:00pm (Oct. 11, 18, 25 & Nov. 15)
We are bringing back a wildly popular series that introduces techniques from Dr. Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. Exercises and activities offer interactive opportunities to enhance classroom rapport, generate student reflection, and stimulate creativity. Applicable to most academic disciplines, this pedagogical framework will help confront issues of power dynamics in a safe, constructive manner; build teaching strategies that support student success; and close the achievement gap by using a more democratic, culturally responsive learning process.
Facilitator: Doug Kaback, Theatre
A stipend of $100 is offered to each participant for full attendance of this series. Space is limited.
