CSUN Hotel

Site Concept

Proposed Hotel Site

The site is a predominantly undeveloped three-acre parcel outside the academic core of the campus, along Nordhoff Street at Matador Way. (It does not include the orange grove.) The campus master plan, which projects to 2035, does not anticipate new academic space on this site.

CSUN’s orange grove and pond will remain intact. Additionally, the development will not adversely affect the stand of mature London plane trees along Nordhoff Street.

The Orange Grove Bistro (University Club) currently sits on a portion of the proposed site.

The location has several attributes conducive to a hotel development, including its close proximity to the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts, the University Student Union, and the university’s athletics venues. It is easily accessible from major freeways, offers high visibility, making it easy to find, and includes sufficient adjacent land for self-contained hotel parking.
