About Us

Our professional academic advisors offer a variety of support services in order to promote and foster student development and academic success. Holistic services include first-year major and General Education advisement, assistance in identifying short- and long-term goals, and referrals to College and University resources for academic, personal and professional development. In addition, the Hub-International Academic Advisement Center provides comprehensive support and advisement services to all new F-1 international undergraduate students. Individualized services include early outreach, academic advisement, first-semester enrollment into degree applicable courses, university orientation and second-semester referrals.

Mission Statement

The Matador Advising Hub at California State University, Northridge is a centralized advising office for first-year freshman and new and continuing exploratory students. We strongly support the belief that academic advisement is a vital part of helping students accomplish their academic and professional goals. The culture of our office reflects the university’s commitment to inclusive student service, respect among students, staff, and faculty, and, maintaining active partnerships with offices across campus. 

Cultivating a collaborative relationship between students and advisors is central to our work at the Hub. Students with declared majors are advised at the Hub for their first-year; exploratory students receive academic advisement from the Hub until they identify a major that complements their personal and professional aspirations. By the time they transition to college-based advisement, students will have a clearer understanding of their role as active learners and their academic objectives as they move forward in their chosen educational path.
