Mathematics Placement Test (MPT)

The Mathematics Placement Test (MPT) determines eligibility to enroll in specific math courses at CSUN. The MPT in-person exam is currently not available due to the pandemic; however, the Mathematics Department is offering an alternative placement test primarily to students who want to switch from a non-STEM major to a STEM major. STEM students may request this alternative placement test in order to qualify for a higher level of mathematics course, and such requests will be given careful consideration by the department. Students who would like to take this alternative placement test are to contact Ms. Andrea Nemeth, Associate Director of Tutoring and Pre-GE Services. Her email address is andrea.nemeth@csun.edu. They can also call the Math Department at 818 677 2721 and leave a message with their contact information or alternatively submit an inquiry form at: https://www.csun.edu/science-mathematics/mathematics.
