Title V Refund Policy

• A 100% refund of basic and/or nonresident fees will be given to students who drop all their classes or withdraw from the University no later than January 21, 2024. Refundable fees include tuition and other fees.
• Students who drop units resulting in a lower fee structure, and non-resident tuition will be entitled to a refund of applicable tuition and other fees up to the end of the designated campus add, drop, swap period, February 9, 2024. After this date, a student who remains enrolled but swaps/drops classes resulting in a lower fee category or non-resident tuition will NOT be eligible for a refund.
• The ADD, DROP, SWAP period for SPRING 2024 is January 22, 2024 through February 9, 2024.
• A prorated refund to withdrawal partially from the first day of instruction, January 22, 2024, up to the 60th percent point in the academic period, will be applied to students who withdraw from the University.

THE PRO-RATA CALCULATION FOR SPRING 2024 FOLLOWS THIS FORMULA:

                Refund Percent = (1- days enrolled/days in term)

                For the SPRING 2024 term, the following applies:

                                First Day of Instruction: January 22, 2024

                                Last Day of SPRING Term: May 17, 2024

                                Total Days in Term: 110 Days

The last day for any pro-rata refund = 110 days x 60% = 66th day which equates to the business day of April 3, 2024.

EXAMPLE OF PRO-RATA REFUND:

                Class Begins: January 22, 2024

                Student Withdrawal Date: March 4, 2024

                Full Time Undergraduate Fees: $3,545.00

                Days in Term: 110 days

                Days Enrolled: 43 days

                Refund Rate: (1 – (43/110)) = 1 - .391 = 60.9%

                Refund Amount: $2,158.91

• Students who drop units resulting in a lower fee structure, and non-resident tuition will be entitled to a refund of applicable tuition and other fees up to the end of the designated campus add, drop, swap period, September 15, 2023. After this date, a student who remains enrolled but swaps/drops classes resulting in a lower fee category or non-resident tuition will NOT be eligible for a refund.

• The ADD, DROP, SWAP period for FALL 2023 is August 28, 2023 through September 15, 2023.

• A prorated refund to withdrawal partially from the first day of instruction, August 28, 2023, up to the 60th percent point in the academic period, will be applied to students who withdraw from the University.

THE PRO-RATA CALCULATION FOR FALL 2023 FOLLOWS THIS FORMULA:

                Refund Percent = (1- days enrolled/days in term)

                For the FALL 2023 Term, the following applies:

                                First Day of Instruction: August 28, 2023

                                Last Day of Fall Term: December 22, 2023

                                Total Days in Term: 113 Days

The last day for any pro-rata refund = 113 days x 60% = 68th day which equates to the business day of November 3, 2023.

EXAMPLE OF PRO-RATA REFUND:

                Class Begins: August 28, 2023

                Student Withdrawal Date: September 30, 2023

                Undergraduate (6.1 + units) Fees: $3,545.00

                Days in Term: 113 days

                Days Enrolled: 34 days

                Refund Rate: (1-(34/113)) = 1 - .301 = 69.9%

                Refund Amount: $2,477.96

• Sessions 1 & 2: May 29, 2023
• Session 3: July 11, 2023
• Refundable fees include tuition and other fees.
• Students who drop units resulting in a lower fee structure, and non-resident tuition will be entitled to a refund of applicable tuition and other fees up to the end of the designated campus add, drop, swap period:
• Sessions 1 & 2: June 9, 2023
• Session 3: July 21, 2023
• After this date, a student who remains enrolled but swaps/drops classes resulting in a lower fee category or non-resident tuition will NOT be eligible for a refund.

• The ADD, DROP, SWAP period for:
• Sessions 1 & 2: May 30, 2023 through June 9, 2023
• Session 3: July 12, 2023 through July 21, 2023

• For a complete withdrawal from all classes after a session begins, you may be eligible for a prorated refund if you officially withdraw between:
• Session 1: May 30, 2023 – July 19, 2023
  
• Session 2: May 30, 2023 – June 24, 2023
  
• Session 3: July 12, 2023 – August 6, 2023

Session 1 (12 weeks)

                Class Begins: May 30, 2023

                Student Withdraw Date: June 16, 2023

                Amount Paid: $2,719.00

                Days in Term for Session 1: 85 days

                Days Enrolled: 18 days

                Refund Rate: (1-(18/85)) = 1 - .212 = 78.8%

                Refund Amount: $2,142.57

Session 2 (6 weeks)

                Class Begins: May 30, 2023

                Student Withdrawal Date: June 13, 2023

                Amount Paid: $2,719.00

                Days in Term for Session 2: 43 days

                Days Enrolled: 15 days

                Refund Rate: (1-(15/43)) = 1 - .349 = 65.1%

                Refund Amount: $1,770.07

Session 3 (6 weeks)

                Class Begins: July 12, 2023

                Student Withdrawal Date: August 1, 2023

                Amount Paid: $2,719.00

                Days in Term for Session 3: 42 days

                Days Enrolled: 21 days

                Refund Rate: (1-(21/42)) = 1 - .50 = 50%

                Refund Amount: $1,359.50
