Clubs & Activities

Making the most out of your time in college means putting yourself out there and getting involved in campus clubs and activities. With more than 300 different clubs and activities from which to choose, representing a broad range of interests including academic, community service, religious, cultural, political, arts, athletic and social, the Matador Involvement Center (MIC) is committed to providing meaningful extra-curricular activities for you.

Becoming involved in a club or organization can help you connect with the campus community; form meaningful relationships with CSUN students, faculty, staff and alumni; further discover your professional interests; develop important professional skills, and most importantly find your niche within the Matador community.

Discover CSUN Student Organizations

CSUN MataSync

Through the CSUN MataSync website, Matadors can read about each of the 300-plus student organizations at CSUN in a single place.

Even better, upon discovering an organization that catches your eye, whether academic, departmental, community service, fraternity or sorority, political, religious, sports or special interest, all the contact information is right there.

In addition to browsing student organizations online, you can participate in one of the recruitment events put on by the organizations.

Meet The Clubs Event

Taking place the second week of each semester, Meet the Clubs offers student clubs and organizations an opportunity to have greater visibility and publicize their events, early in the fall and spring semesters.

New and returning students, faculty, and staff can see the many opportunities for involvement on campus in a centralized, energetic and festive setting.

Clubs & Organizations Tabling Fest

Tabling Fest allows student organizations to gather together on Cleary Walk East and Matador Square Lawn to showcase who they are to the CSUN campus community over several days each semester. Interested students have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with student officers from each organization.

Special Activities & Opportunities

In addition to CSUN's 300-plus student organizations, there are several special programs you may want to explore.

The R.E.D. Leadership Academy is designed to provide current, active CSUN student leaders a co-curricular learning opportunity centered around self reflection, community engagement and the demonstration of leadership learning outcomes.

Utilizing workshops, learning activities and group discussions, this two-semester leadership program provides students the tools and resources to make campus involvement more meaningful and to increase understanding of personal leadership practice.

The SHINE Leadership Conference is a one-day collaborative conference for Matador student leaders designed to assist current and future organizational leaders with recruiting new members, growing organizational leadership, implementing policies and procedures and taking civic responsibility. Participation in SHINE gives participants the tools they need to sustain a healthy student-run organization and gain a better understanding of how their leadership and service will benefit their life and career.
