Get Your Body Moving Right into the Holiday Season

Shake those tail feathers and join in this 2-week virtual fitness challenge with the SRC during Turkey Burn-Off Challenge! Come enjoy some active fun, burn some of those tasty holiday calories, and earn points by doing fitness related activities. To participate, all you need to do is create an account through ChallengeRunner, join the “Turkey Burn-Off 2020” program and then manually track your fitness activities to accumulate points when the challenge begins. Let’s enjoy the fall weather and get our bodies moving right into the holiday season!
Starting Monday, Nov. 23, you will accumulate points by manually tracking your fitness activities through the SRC ChallengeRunner webpage or the ChallengeRunner app (iOS and Android). There are four different ways to earn points:
Daily Physical Activity: Earn points by manually tracking the amount of moderate to vigorous physical activity, of any kind, completed each day:
- Three points by completing greater than 30 minutes.
- Two points by completing less than or equal to 30 minutes.
- One point for no activity.
Plus, earn 10 bonus points when you reach at least 16 points in this category.
Note: A maximum of 52 points are available in this category, including bonus points, during the program.
Daily SRC and Oasis Virtual Activities: Earn five points each day by manually tracking when you participate in one of the following virtual activities offered by the SRC or Oasis Wellness Center:
- SRC Live-streamed fitness/mindfulness class
- SRC YouTube on-demand fitness/mindfulness class
- SRC At-home workout routine (Available on Instagram and Facebook)
- Oasis Live-streamed meditation/mindfulness/art/nutrition workshops
Plus, earn 10 bonus points when you reach at least 30 points in this category.
Note: A maximum of 70 points are available in this category, including bonus points, during the program.
Daily Aftermath Booster: Earn two points each day by sharing a picture of yourself, post-workout, in the program chat area.
Plus, earn 10 bonus points when you reach at least 12 points in this category.
Note: A maximum of 38 points are available in this category, including bonus points, during the program. Points will be manually entered by a program administrator once confirmed.
Spread the Word Booster: Earn five points per each referral that registers for the Turkey Burn-Off Challenge by Thursday, Nov. 26 AND an additional three points if the person is new to ChallengeRunner.
Plus, earn ten bonus points once you reach 10 points in this category.
Note: A maximum of 42 points are available in this category, including bonus points, during the program. Referrals must be a part of the CSUN community and submitted no later than Thursday, Nov. 26 into the challenge Turkey Burn-Off Referral Tracker for consideration. Additionally, referrals new to ChallengeRunner must not have created an account within ChallengeRunner prior to Sunday, Nov. 1. Points will be manually entered by a program administrator once confirmed.
Minimum Participation and Prize Eligibility
Moving your body daily will grant you more opportunities to earn points. Each time you reach a different point level, you will become eligible to be entered in raffles for the prizes below.
Level 1: 68 points
- $10 Starbucks Gift Card
- 2 Winners will be chosen
Level 2: 106 points
- $25 Target Gift Card
- 2 Winners will be chosen
Level 3: 121 points
- $50 Amazon Gift Card
- 1 Winner will be chosen
Additionally, each participant who reaches Level 2 by the end of the challenge will receive a commemorative Turkey-Burn-Off shirt (While supplies last, limited to the first 100 people).
Winners will be randomly selected by Thursday, Dec. 10. The winner must claim their prize by responding to the respective email no later than Sunday, Dec. 13. If a winner does not claim their prize by the deadline, a new winner will be drawn.
