The Student Recreation Center (SRC) will offer Boxer Basics and Cardio Kickboxing classes free to all students. These classes are 55 minutes long and offer the basics that students can utilize for an alternative workout.
Sandra Salute, fitness and wellness coordinator, plans and executes all group exercise activities for the SRC.
Mondays at 1 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m., and Wednesdays at noon.
Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon, and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.
Determination Studio, located on the second floor of the SRC.
To provide all CSUN students with the opportunity to engage in various activities with others. Also, to provide students with extracurricular activities that encourages overall health and well being. These boxing classes can be used for cardio training, or as an understanding of proper techniques that are used in boxing.
Boxer’s Basics is taught by Peter Christianson, boxing supervisor and group exercise instructor, and Andrew Shibata, boxing fitness assistant and group exercise instructor. Cardio Kickboxing is taught by Jason Marquez, non-student group exercise instructor; Mila Desind, non-student group exercise instructor; Mahfrin Santoke, group exercise instructor; and Amanda Frick, graduate assistant and group exercise instructor.
