Professional Trainer Drenches Students

September 26, 2012

Northridge– Professional trainer and former pro basketball player Michael Blanks will bring his unique personal training class, Drenched Cardio, to the Student Recreation Center (SRC) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Students will get a taste of his Body Theory gym class as part of the SRC’s new Master Class event, a five-part series of classes planned for the 2012-2013 school year. Each Master Class will introduce students to a new type of workout and offer the opportunity to exercise with high profile trainers.

“This will challenge students to push their physical abilities,” said Rachel Serrano, events supervisor. “They also get a chance to meet Blanks to ask questions and take pictures.”

Blanks likes to keep his classes energetic and varied, focusing on what works for his students and what doesn’t.

“There are not many places you can go where your instructor teaches, motivates, DJs and keeps it energetic and fun all at the same time,” said Blanks. “There’s always an evolution going on to keep my workouts interesting and fresh.”
