Do You Have What It Takes to be a “StrongMatador”? Prove It at the SRC’s Obstacle Course Challenge

WHAT:

The Student Recreation Center of the University Student Union invites all SRC members to put their skills to the test during the “StrongMatador: Obstacle Course Challenge”. With rigorous elements including rope climbing, low crawl, slackline balance beam and more, this obstacle course is a true test of your physical ability. The top male and female competitors that complete the most elements of the course in the least amount of time will each be crowned “StrongMatador” and win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

WHO:

Amanda Christianson, SRC Fitness Coordinator, is responsible for putting on this event.

WHEN:

Monday, Nov. 13 to Friday, Nov. 17 during specified hours

WHERE:

Student Recreation Center in the new Top Level Training Zone

WHY:

Provide SRC members with a fun opportunity for fitness and friendly competition along with the chance to win great prizes.

BACKGROUND:

The “Strong Matador: Obstacle Course Challenge” is the ultimate test of strength, endurance, balance power and quickness, including the Rope Climb, Low Crawl, Farmers Walk, Rungs of Wrath, Slackline Balance Beam, Angled Steps & High Hurdles and Push-Pull Sled. At the end of the challenge period, the top competitors from the male and female brackets will be awarded the title of “StrongMatador”, along with the champion medallion and a $100 Visa gift card. The top 10 competitors from each bracket will also receive a StrongMatador t-shirt and SRC swag bag. The challenge is open to all SRC members with an active membership. Any non-SRC member participating must purchase guest passes each day of attendance. Register today on the SRC Challenges Portal or in-person at the Top Level Training Zone!
