FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge — The Student Recreation Center (SRC) of the University Student Union is pleased to announce it will be welcoming the CSUN-Connected Community back to its on-campus facilities starting Monday, June 7. This will provide the opportunity to anyone who is eligible to become an SRC member the ability to access indoor and outdoor areas like the Total Training Zone, Plaza Pool, Turf Field and more. Get up and get moving this summer as the SRC reopens for you!

“We are so excited to be able to extend our reopening of the SRC facility to the CSUN- Connected Community and allow access to exercise and recreation experiences in-person,” said Kaila Lavin, SRC Director. “These on-premise opportunities will now allow all Matadors to get even more active after a long period of virtual-only activity.”

The SRC facilities will be open in a limited capacity to those eligible to become an SRC member, including CSUN Faculty and Staff, Alumni, Alumni Association Members and Sponsored Adults. Those who wish to access the SRC will need to first purchase a membership before taking advantage of the SRC facilities. Memberships are available on a semester basis and are prorated based on the date of purchase. Please visit the SRC Membership Page for details on pricing and how to purchase your membership.

You will then be able to access the facilities by downloading the SRC App on iOS or Android, booking a 75 minute Personal Recreation Window, and completing your mandatory health screening. The SRC will also be offering some limited in-person programs and services for all members, such as Group Exercise Classes, Personal Training Sessions and more. In addition to the in-person programs and services, the SRC will continue to offer a wide range of virtual opportunities including Virtual Group Exercise Classes, Virtual Personal Training, Virtual Fitness Challenges, MySwimPro App for Aquatic Exercises and Intramural eSports Tournaments.

The SRC will be open regularly from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Sunday. To ensure member safety, the SRC has implemented enhanced cleaning procedures, mandatory health screenings and social distancing. In addition, face coverings must be worn at all times except when swimming and showering.

The SRC looks forward to welcoming the CSUN-Connected Community back and seeing you soon! For more information on the Student Recreation Center’s reopening, please check out the newly updated FAQs at csun.edu/src/reopening-faqs.
