Northridge —The Student Recreation Center at the University Student Union is excited to invite the children and grandchildren of current SRC members to participate in its upcoming “Spring Fun for Kids” programs available over two convenient blocks. Block One will run every Saturday from Feb. 13 through Mar. 13 followed by Block Two from Apr. 9 through May 7. Both 5-week programs will include “FUNdamentals of Basketball” and “Jr. Dance Mania” to encourage kids to get up and moving with dance or basketball to help them learn the importance of physical activity at an early age.
“Spring Fun for Kids is a fun and extremely affordable way to keep kids active,” said Amanda Christianson, Fitness Coordinator at the SRC, “Children and grandchildren of SRC members will love these classes specially created for kids to learn the fundamen-tals of basketball or the basics of some great dance moves. ”
The “FUNdamentals of Basketball” is open to kids ages 7 to 10 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the SRC’S Matarena for five consecutive Saturdays. Participants will be able to develop essential basketball skills necessary for any young player along with gaining communication skills on the court through a variety of engaging drills.
“Jr. Dance Mania” is perfect for getting the young ones ages 3 to 6 active with fun and energetic dance moves. This program will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the SRC’s Motivation Studio for five consecutive Saturdays.
The cost for each program is just $20 per child. Registration for Block One starts Saturday, Feb. 6 and ends Saturday, Feb. 13. Registration for Block Two starts Saturday, April.2 and ends Saturday, April 6.
