Calling All Swimmers To Get In Shape

What:
The Student Recreation Center (SRC) will begin aquatics programs that feature swim lessons for beginner to intermediate levels; as well as classes such as Adult Stroke Technique, Aqua Aerobics, and Aqua Bootcamp. All classes will be taught by experienced instructors.   

Who:
Frances Caron, USU aquatics coordinator, is responsible for planning and executing aquatics classes.

When:
Registration for swim lessons will begin Monday, March 26
Stroke Technique, Aqua Aerobics, and Aqua Bootcamp will begin week of Monday, April 9
Swim Lessons will begin week of Monday, April 16

Where:
Rec Pool, located in the SRC.

Why:
The resistance created through in-water movement is greater than what is experienced on land. Aquatic classes are designed to increase strength and the amount of calories burned per minute.

Background: 
Adult Beginner and Intermediate Swim Lessons are $16 for students and $32 for non-students; there are eight, 30-minute lessons, twice a week, for four weeks. Adult Stroke Technique, Aqua Aerobics, and Aqua Bootcamp are 55-minute classes that will be offered to members free of charge. Private and semi-private lessons also are available.
