Become a Certified Lifeguard this Spring at the SRC’s “Red Cross Lifeguard Course”

What:
The Student Recreation Center is offering all CSUN students, faculty and staff the opportunity to become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard at its “Red Cross Lifeguard Course”. This six-session program over three weekends will take you through hands-on training to gain important lifesaving skills for an affordable cost of $130.

Who:
Ryan Hairapetian, Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for putting on this event.

When:
Registration opens Tuesday, March 1 and closes Friday, April 1

Sessions are Every Saturday and Sunday in April from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(April 2 and 3, 9 and 10, 16 and 17.)

Where:
SRC Conference Room and Plaza Pool

Why:
Provide prospective lifeguards with an affordable and convenient option to receive training and certification.

Background:
Registration for the “Red Cross Lifeguard Course” is available at the SRC front desk or online at www.csun.edu/src/aquatics. Participants are expected to provide their own swimsuit and meet a certain number of swimming and rescue skill pre-requisites. Participants who fail to demonstrate the pre-requisites will receive a full refund of $130.
