Learn lifesaving skills in just three weekends with American Red Cross Lifeguard classes from the Student Recreation Center of the University Student Union. Through hands-on training, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to effectively prevent, recognize and respond to aquatics emergencies until medical personnel are able to take over.

Saturdays & Sundays: Oct. 1 – 2, Oct. 8 – 9, Oct. 15 – 16
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
SRC Conference Room, Student Recreation Center & Plaza Pool
Cost: $137
Register by Friday, Sept. 30 through the SRC Portal

Space is limited, so register from Monday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Sept. 30 via the SRC Portal or by visiting the SRC front desk. Before attending classes, participants must be able to: 

  1. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing
  2. Tread water for two minutes using only their legs
  3. Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds
