August 29, 2018

Northridge—The fun and competition of Intramural Sports are back at the Student Recreation Center (SRC) in the University Student Union (USU) this fall! The SRC invites all CSUN students, faculty and staff interested in playing Intramural Sports to sign up and take part in two action-packed seasons this semester. Season 1 runs from Monday, Sept. 10 to Friday, Oct. 26 and includes Flag Football and Indoor Volleyball. Season 2 runs from Monday, Oct. 29 to Friday, Dec. 7 with Basketball, Indoor Soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee. Team registration is open from now until Thursday, Sept. 6 for Season 1 and until Thursday, Oct. 25 for Season 2. Don’t have a team to sign up with yet? Free agents are always encouraged to sign up and join a team all season long!

Intramural Sports provide an awesome opportunity for good times and friendly competition with other Matadors,” said Devin Barnett, SRC Intramural Sports Coordinator. “It’s also the best way to try new sports that interest you. Here at the SRC, we make it welcoming and safe so everyone can have fun, regardless of whether you’re new or experienced.”

Games will take place weekly in an all-inclusive environment. You have the option to play in a competitive league or a more fun/recreational setting with fellow students, faculty, and staff. All intramural games will take place at the SRC in the Red Ring Courts, Matarena or Turf Field. Every member of the top team in each division will receive an Intramural Sports Champion t-shirt.

To play Intramural Sports this spring semester, just sign up on through and purchase your all-access semester pass to participate in the games. The all-access semester pass is $7 for students and $12 for faculty and staff.

All Matadors are encouraged to use the #CSUNIMS hashtag and follow the Facebook page for Intramural Sports! For more information about Intramural Sports, the SRC, and the USU, please visit or contact SRC Intramural Sports Coordinator, Devin Barnett at or
