“SRC Swim Challenge: Team Edition” Offers Fitness, Competition and Fun for Students

What:
The Student Recreation Center at the University Student Union invites all CSUN students to participate in the “SRC Swim Challenge: Team Edition”. Starting in early April, students are encouraged to team up with a friend and challenge themselves to stay active by swimming to achieve specified distance milestones for the chance to win awesome prizes! The more you swim, the more you can win.

Who:
Ryan Hairapetian, Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating this event.

When: 
Monday, April 4 to Friday, May 6 during regular hours of pool operation.
Registration is open until Friday, April 25

Where:
The Rec and Plaza Pool

Why:
Encourage CSUN students to swim more to experience the importance of staying healthy and fit through swimming.

Background:
Student teams can register for the challenge through the Netpulse app or during SRC tabling sessions. Participants can swim a maximum distance of 6,000 yards per day (3,000 yards per teammate on teams of two) and must log their daily yards on the Netpulse app. Participants who make the top five will be eligible to win gift cards and semester-long towel service. The first team to reach 60,000 yards will win the first place prize of a $25 gift card to the Matador Bookstore.
