“SRC Swim Challenge” Offers Fitness, Cool Prizes and Friendly Competition

What: The Student Recreation Center (SRC) at the University Student Union encourages all CSUN students, faculty and staff to participate in the “SRC Swim Challenge”. Starting this month, you can take part in this friendly competition in order to get active and stay fit.  Your challenge will be swimming to achieve the specified distance milestones for the chance to win awesome prizes and participate in great giveaways! The more you swim, the more you can win.

Who:
Ryan Hairapetian, Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for putting on this event.

When:
Monday, Sept. 12 to Friday, Oct. 14 during regular hours of pool operation
Registration opens Monday, Sept. 5 and closes Wednesday, Oct. 12

Where:
The SRC Pool and Plaza Pool

Why:
Encourage CSUN students to stay fit and healthy through swimming along with an opportunity to win great prizes.

Background:
Participants must register for the challenge through the Netpulse app or during SRC tabling sessions. You can swim a maximum distance of 3,500 yards per day and must log your daily yards on the Netpulse app. Participants who make the top five will be eligible to win gift cards and semester-long towel service. The first person to reach 30,000 yards will win the first place prize of a $35 gift card to the Matador Bookstore. You’ll also have the chance to win an SRC swag by reaching certain milestones, including water bottles, sunglasses, mesh bags, and more!
