TUC Sponsored Programs

TUC staffing changes and updated liaison assignments

August 1, 2020

Dear Principal Investigators and Research Administrators:

We are sad to share the news that Matthew Nyby’s last day with Post-Award office is on August 7, 2020. He will be moving to the campus side in the Academic and Budget Planning as a Resource Analyst beginning August 10, 2020.

Matt is known to us as a team player and who is always willing to help his customers and his colleagues. He has been instrumental in creating internal system improvements due to his Excel wizard skills. We know that his skills will be a great asset to the campus especially during these trying times. We will miss him and are happy for his new opportunity.

Due to this change, we have updated our liaison assignments. This will be effective August 10, 2020. Vanessa Wampler will take on full liaison responsibilities as a Post-Award Analyst, while Thuy Wong will step in as an Analyst Associate, who will assist the department with liaison duties as well as continue to be our eTravel expert.

We are also excited to welcome back Philia Militante, who will be assisting our liaisons with administrative and compliance duties. Philia started her career in TUC in the Licensing department for eight years before moving to Post-Award department as one of our liaisons. She left in 2018 and is ready to come back as an Administrative Analyst to take on a supporting role to the Post-Award staff. She will join the Post-Award team on August 10th.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We hope that you and your family are staying safe.

Sincerely,

Grace Slavik, Associate Director, Post Award
